Fun at the Movies

Gather 'round kiddies, it's story time...

Last night was a fun, fun nite. Got to see lots of old friends, some unexpected old class mates, and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. It all starts at about 9:45pm, EST. Met up with two friends at a Taco Hell. Got some grub while we waited for our other friends to arrive before heading off to the movie. As usual when we get together, we were loud, obnoxious, cussing, laughing, and generally being asses. I think most people in the resturant left. Eh, oh-well. There were 5 of us, and whenever we get together hillarity ensues. At least to us, most of our funniness are inside jokes. An old class mate of mine, Amit, walked through the door. Hadn't seen that SOB since we graduated. We caught up, but then we had to leave to go get in line for the movie. He had the Mexican Pizza. I had the #9, 3 soft tacos.

We get to the theater and while we're walking to the end of the line for LOTR, we see two more old class mates, so we line-jump the 10 people that were behind them. We let others line jump in front of us, so it's all good. So now theres 7 of us, and as usual, we're loud, obnoxious, cussing, laughing, and generally being asses. I think we made the people around us in the line hate us. Eh, oh-well. Two friends from a friends college who was seeing the movie with us showed up, we let them line skip, the group count is up to 9; Grant, Michael, Kevin, John, Joe, Matt, Kenny, Scarlett and myself. There were no less then 3 conversations going on at any one time in the group, so I"m not even sure what all was said....all I know is at one point we broke out into the Strong Bad techno song, "The System is Down". At that point I"m pretty sure those around us hated us. Eh, oh-well. While standing in line two more old class mate walked by, one who I hadn't seen since Elementary school. We caught up on old times. There were 8 of them, and the line was long, so we didn't let them line skip, we are assholes, but not total assholes. These two girls walked by, looked like they were 12, but wanted to look like they wanted to be 15, you know the kind. So Kevin asked how old they were, one of them smarted off saying she was 15. Kevin said she was lying and she was only 12, to go back home it's past your bed time. This was hillarious, we cracked up laughing. I think we pissed her off, cause she kinda stormed off. Which is pretty funny. She tried to get her friend to come with her, but she didn't, which was even funnier. This event lead to a series of jokes and comments about fornication with minors and such...you know, "If there's grass on the field, play ball", "old enough to bleed, old enough to butcher", that kinda thing. Simply sick, but hillarious at the same time. Strange how that works out. Kevin saw a college buddy, she had a fuzzy sweater that felt nifty, and it was warm. We saw two other old class mates, but they were going home, so no line skipping.

The movie was just simply amazing. In the words of John, only two words can describe that movie, "bad" and "ass". And as usual we added our own commentary to the movie, some was funny and got laughs from surrounding movie goers, some weren't. Yes, we are the talking type, even in good movies. But not the annoying kind that talks at full voice through the whole thing, just the peeving kind that mutters things every now and again. So yeah, the movie was long, 3 1/2 hours long in fact. It was good up until the ending, which just like the book, sucked. Its like JRR got tired of writing and just said Fuck It, I'm ending this quick as possible. The battle scenes kick ass, Legolas (the man-hot Elf) does some more stuff that just blows your mind. Aragon kicks ass, the dead people of the mountain rule...OK, so I may have some names wrong, but you get the picture.

After the movie Kevin, John, Matt, Joe and myself went to Wa-Ho, or Waffle House. By now its like 4 am. Kevin had to be at work at 9am, but being the tropper he is, had a grilled cheese sandwhich with us. I had three scrambled eggs and toast, yum. I forget what happened there. It was 4 am and anything that happens after 3 am tends to get lost in memory. We were loud, obnoxious, cussing, laughing, and generally being asses. So yeah, I think we made the trucker guy in there mad. And the waitress. Must not be used to youngin's. Eh, oh-well. It was freaking cold last night, about 35, wet, and with a good 15 mph steady wind. Ridiculus. So all in all, saw some friends, pissed some folks off, saw a great movie, pissed more people off, ate, pissed even more people off, and got a cold from standing outside. Good times, can't wait till next time.
