yeah, it's one of those days

Well I'm in a kinda pissy mood...seems someone has claimed 'my' radio color change mod as thier own...submitted it as a project at another site under thier own name. I wouldn't mind so much if the person had asked for permission to do so. I may not have been the first person ever to do this (highly doubt that) but amongst the board where the project was posted, 'my' project was the only way known. Had the person asked I wouldn't have mind, but I mean, I thought of the mod, and then figured out how to do, went through the trouble of doing it, and then posted how to do for others to use, not claim as thier own. Doing 'my' projects is one thing, but claiming them is another. Maybe I"m getting pissy for nothing....Shit like this makes me not want to post my projects...be one of those assholes who hides everything. Worse part is, his project sucks...I like to think that mine is fairly comprehensive, hell I even make a new freaking lense cover...

On other news, got soem pics of that sub cover trim panel thing I covered in grey (faux) seude. Pics came out considerably better then I thought they might...I'm really pleased with how it turned out, just hope the guy likes it. The pics are really grainy, but that cause I made the quality as low as I could for quick loading. It's got a really nice soft feel to it....I may have to go back to the store and buy the rest of the grey seude they had, not sure for what, but I"d think of soemthing.

When I don't update for this long it usually means one of two things: I've been super-super busy, or super-super up to nothing. Well, neither is quite true, as I have not been busy, but I have not been not doing anything in the same breath. I got a new play toy...I"m lame, I know, but it's a micro RC car. Gives me something to play with and do in a samll scale to go along with the large scale. Unfortunatly, it's not working anymore...I freaking broke it alredy. My own fault, I was upgrading the wiring from measly 22 gauge to 18 gauge and um, burt through two surface mount something-or-others on the main electronics board....whoops. I'm a dumbass sometimes. So I have to get a new board or something...The Ranchero is no different then it was this time last week....it's just too bloody hot to work out in the shop. Even with a circulation fan 2 feet from me it's just unbearable out there sometimes. That and I ran out of hardener for my bondo....give you a gallon of bondo, but only a half gallons worth of hardener.....wtf is that?

Today was a productive day however...got some new specs for my crappy eyes...I really, REALLY needed new frames. My old ones were a sad sort indeed. Both earpeices broke off and I lost one of them, so I had, belive it or not, a stick of solder used for plumbing. Hey, it worked...also had a lot of electrical tape holding the whole shebang together. Also got a pair of perscribtion sunglasses, so now I can look pimp and still see where I'm going...nice. Ate a an awesome little chinese resturant...just polished off the leftovers...I"ll be going back more often. And the last but not least, I finished a trim panel for my dad's co-workers Camaro's sub box. I'll have to snap some pics, but it looks pretty spiffy, a nice Chevy logo in the middle with flames coming off the sides...all covered in grey suede. Heck yeah, I sure hope the guy likes it. I don't like to brag, but I think I"m getting really good at that custom stuff...lol.

Got the new lostprophets CD today, Start Something. It's pretty kick ass. I"ve liked lostprophets ever since I first heard them about 3 years ago when thier first CD (in America at least) came out. This one sounds more refined then that one, great tunes, good stuff. If you like Hoobastank, Chevelle and those types of bands, check out this Welsh band...you wo'nt be dissapointed.

Look at that, I cahnged some things. I changed the color of the site to somethign a bit darker..it's not quite black (it's supposed to look like black primer), I think I like it. Changed the color of few other things. Changed the font of the menu, the size of the menu, and a few other things. The main menu items should be the 'century gothic' font, with subitems in the 'trebuchet ms' font....windows people should have these two fonts already (At least in XP), if you don't you'll see the menu in Time New Roman font, and it'll look ugly. I'm gonna change the top of the page too, soemthing more current and spiffier looking...I also deleted a few pages (site map and pics). updated a few pages (both links page, suppliers page...now they finally have some content, lol), and did some other things.....The thigns I do for you people...lol. Enjoy.

I got carded...

So a strange thing happened to me today...OK, not so much me as my mom in my truck, but for the sake of making a good story, it was me...So my mom drives the Ranger to church nearly every Wednesday nite, tonite was no different. But what was different is when she got out to the truck, there was a business card stuck in the window molding on the drivers door for a car club, Descending Level. I find that to be pretty cool. It seems the VP of the club (whos' name is on the card at least) saw the truck and thought enough of it to leave a card. Dunno if I"ll actually try to join or what, just thought it was kinda nifty. Seems like a small club that's just starting out, so who knows...

houston, we have liftoff

I'm really stocked right now...my Dad and I got the mechanical cable pull finally installed on teh drivers door of the Ranchero...so now with the simple pull of a lever, the drivers door pops open. I just can't tell you how bad ass that is. I mean, come on, you walk up, reach into the front wheel well, pull a hidden lever and the door POPS open, If you've never seen this in person, you probably do'nt get the big deal, if you have, you know what I mean. The best part is of course, that the whole thing is started off as just an idea I had. Sat down, thought about how to do it, looked at what needed to be done, got the one part we needed (a hood release cable from a ~90 Accord), and fabricated the rest. Feels really good when you think up of a new idea and follow it through start to end with NO premade parts, or wussy kits. I really should be used to the feeling by now, I mean, I'm really against premade aftermarket parts...I make all my own mods or adapt somethign to work...I'm begining to ramble, I'm a bit sleepy...my bad.

In other also great news, got the ball rolling on actaully making the one peice side windows working. Cut the front track down to work, made a mock cardboard window, and tested it...it seems to work. Gonna have to make a mock window out of some stiffer material so that the bottom track wo'nt keep popping out of the rear track. Today was a good day, I'm gonna go to sleep happy, I know that.

I started making a mold of my headlights so that I can vacuum form a solid and flat from lense from polycarbonate (Lexan) in preperation for my upcoming headlight mod.....Of course I"m not done playing yet...I still have a trick or two up my sleeve for my headlights. The wheels are in motion, whether or not they all hit the ground and move me forward is another thing...But I cast the mold, will take a few days to cure, which is fine and dandy, not ready for it yet.

Took a few more pics of the angel eyes, and these aren't so blurry, but they still suck...lol.

I think I got an idea for a new site design, still kicking it around and making test sites, decided to change the layout, colors, and basically everything...so yeah...Some other stuff, but I can't remember...







Story of the Year...good stuff, buy the CD, new bands need to support, fuck the established ones, I'll download thier stuff.

I dunno what the fuck is going on with the main frame not wanting to load....it's pissing me off to no end...not much I can do about it, apologize for the inconvience...

an orgasmic, euphoric moment in time

I just got Flash MX Pro 2004, granted, it's only a 30 day trial, but I hope to be able to make some spiffy new page elements in that time. Still do'nt know what I want my site to llok liek tho. I kinda like it as it is, I like the colors, the layout, and the style...I like the simplicity of it all too, just want to add a hint of spiffy-ness, mainly in the menu area. Few things I don't like about it, but still dunno what I"m gonna do...

Also helping a friend redo his site, so that'll give me some practice and some experience under my belt.

Got my angel eye materials in today...a full week after I ordered them. I was pretty excited about it, tested them...they worked, but they are a little more blue then what I was hoping for. I was expecting (and wanting) a nice, bright white look. What I got instead is a decidely bluish hue. White it doesn't look bad (still looks badass actaully), I wanted white...lol. its blue because the outercasing on the EL wire is clear...so the EL wire is allowed to show it's natural color. This is one reason why I like making my own mods instead of going with premade ones. But enough of my bitching, onto the insanly blurry pics. My camera sucks in the day time..and it REALLY sucks at nite...so I did what I could...

Um, forgot a few things...

I'm building a vacuum for machine, hopefully, so I'll be able to make soem custom parts...the possibilities are endless almost...and I hope to be able to use it to finally make the blue OHC display covers I"ve been promising for so long....

Kepe in mind it's really grainy because the original is grainy (wouldn't belive how hard it is to find a good pic ofa 66 Ranchero....), it's been compressed for easy loading, and I just did it real fast....who knows, it may not look anything like this come this time next year. Certainly no where like this now.

I think I"m addicted. Everytime I go with out it, Ilinger around, waiting. Sometimes I think I love my truck....too much (even though I highly dislike my truck, I love it at the same time). Whenever someone else drives it, I have to watch it drive away...and linger about outside in hopes I"ll catch a glipse of it coming back. That low slung-mean looking beast of a truck. OK, maybe not beast...but a not-nice animal all the same.

Hopefully, I"ll be getting a bit of money my way very soon. I'm doing some custom upholstery work for someone who works with my dad. He saw my work on the truck, and asked if I could do some work to his Camaro. It's money, so of course I will. Looks pretty cool, I'll try to get some pics of it before I cover it with material, after, and installed.

My birthday wasn't too bad. No major complaints, but nothing to write home about either. No special slice of....um, pizza from PaPa John's, lol.

Angel eye stuff should be here by the end of the week...can't wait.

lost in never-never land

Tomorrow (Monday) is my b-day....wonder what I'm getting. I know one thing I"m not getting, and thats a b-day hookup...forcast is doubtful with a chance of not-in-a-million-years, damn. Even though I did have a nice dream last nite about the hottie of chicky that works at PaPa John's...prophetic? I can only hope. There was something else I wanted to say..but in my old age, my memory fails me at times...eh, maybe I need to try some of that ginko.

My angel eye materials did not come in today, I'm hoping Monday (theres a b-day gift! who-hoo), so that I can get to working on the Monday-day.

I'm gonna redo the site again over the next few days. Not sure really what I'm gonna do, but I"ll figure it out as I go along.
