fuckeity fuck fuck fuck fuck

Well, when it's rains, it FUCKIN POURS. So, I get home from work last nite (in the morning, whatever, I get confused), my mom looks visually shaken and looks liek shes' been crying...turns out there is no power on upstairs, no telephone, no cable, no computers, and no dog. We had a helluva electrical storm that nite, apparently a close power pole or our house directly was struck, as teh three (four?) breakers for the upstrairs were tripped, reset those and all is fine up stairs...so, go out lookin for the dog. Drove around an adjoining neighbourhood, no dog. Damn. Comeback home...still no phone, and my computer won't fuckin come on. Finally I get the computer to come on, good. No phone, no cable. Turn on the TV to check to see what else got struck. No TV. FUCKIN-A, my TV was struck. Damnit...my SOny Wega flat screen...so..had to buy a new TV. Mine was a few years old, so I was able to get one that is a little better. Same size, flat screen, 2 a/v inputs, and an S-video input. That S-video makes my XBox look sweet...So while my Dad and I were out, we used payphones to call the cable and phone companies. Luckily, we were able to get the phones working (although two or three of them were zapped), and last nite the cable came back on, although not on one TV and we think that TV got zapped too. Lost my speakers on my computer...which means no music..I LIVE for my music on my computer...fuck. So, go to work last nite (oh yeah, no A/C upstairs either, so it's hotter then hell up here), get there, and have to start all kinds of daily checks on batts, jacks, and chargers. Damn, busy nite. So, right before late break (at 5am), one of teh nite su[ervisors for the warehouse asks me to come in at 9pm to change batts for the guys who will now come in at 9pm. That's an 11 hour shift...eh, I'll owrk it, cause it's money. So, get home, and who's waiting in the front yard? My dog! Woo-hoo! So, got the dog back, my computer works (although no sound), cable's good, tele is workin...but still no A/C. Then just about 10 mins ago, one of my supervisors that ALL temps have been let go...corporate is pullign the wallet strings and won't pay us. So that means I have no job. And those fuckin bastards did this in teh middle of the fuckin week....good damn, let me finish out the week and at least get another full paycheck. Bastards. But, all maynot be lost, as all shit will literaly hit the fan with out a dedicated battery changer (day or nite shift). The battery chagner (which has been blowing fuses that control the magnets) will break down, the batts won't get watered (which means they will get SUPER hot, 250°+ easy, and they will explode if they aren't watered), the jacks won't get watered, I"m tellin you, it will go downhill in a fuckin heartbeat...by Friday, it will be a total hellabaloo. So, if that happens, they will be all but forced to hire me back, but not as a temp, as a full tiem worker...which means actual money and not the chicken scratch I get now. So, who the hell knows. Right now, I'm kinda pissed...evidenced by teh rambling and excessive use of 'fuck'. Kinda a shame, I was going to start saving my money for a 64-67 Lincoln Continential convertible. Suede black, 20"s, shaved, bagged, killer tunes...that was my plan. So fuck it all.

all good things eventaully come to me

What's the newest object of my desire? Mercedes Terrell. Holy hell is she hot....H-O-T HOT. Makes me wanna sell everything I own, buy a plane ticket to Cali, and stalk her or something. Of course I would never do that (although I am quite proud of my stalking skillz...nother story for another time, lol). Strange thign is, just reading the bio, she sounds like a fun person, seriously someone who I would hang out with...seems like we'd even be....compatible...Damn shame I'm here, shes' there, and there is no way on God's green earth would I ever pull down a chick that hot....NO WAY IN HELL either. Eh, I"ll guess I'll live with droolign over the pickies...

"salt the fries"

I'm dissapointed in myself. In the past week I"ve bought 6 CD's, not a single one has had a parental advisory sticker. I"m losing my touch I tell ya...losing it. Somtimes I love having this job thing, it allows me certain liberties, such as CDs. I got three CDs for X-mas, and two since then, up until the 6 this week. In no particular order, jsut because I want too, my recent CDs:

Deftones-Deftones (5/10): Nothign ground breaking, generic sounding. It's no White Pony or Around the Fur.

Hoobastank-The Reason (8/20): Great pussy rock band. About equal with thier first CD, although a little more polished. Couple of good singles.

Rage Against the Machine-Live at Olympic Auditorium (12/10): What can you say bad about this kick ass CD? Not much. Cover all thier hits, and the changes they make to some (Killing in the Name Of, etc) make you wonder why they weren't written that way. Everyone who's any kind of rock band needs this CD, if not for anything less then to have the final concert album of one of the most influenitial bands of the '90s.

Story of the Year- P4ge Avenue (8/10): THis is a really good breakout band. Thier two singles are pretty indicitie of the entire CD; gritty, raw, and something that works. Think of them as a cross between Rage and Hooba, without the political stuff.

lostprophets-Star Something (9/10)- Love this CD as well. Can put it in the CD palyer, with random, and not be dissapointed with what it plays. A lot more polished then The Fake Sound of Progress, but in this case, that's a good thing. They still have a new sound thats gets you to tappin your toes and banging your hands to the beat, get both of thier CD's.

Modest Mouse-Good News for People who Like Bad News (6/10): NOt really a bad CD, but not really a good CD either. They probably will die from the scene fairly quickly after thier two singles get played out, Good Charlotte style (whos sucks...hard ass looking bad, pussy ass sound). Outside of thier two singles, the rest of the CD is only good, if not quirky.

The Killers-Hot Fuss (8/10): Similar to Story of the Year, a really good sounding breakout band. AS I've said, love the electro in it. Another one where a random play produces a good song everytime, a definite buy.

Muse-Absolution (?/10): HAven't listen to the whole thing, but i'ts not bad. Hopefully thier current tour with The Cure will rub off on them and give them a sound that is lasting, much like the cure. As it is now, not epic, nothing. I did notice that the songs did sound kinda montonus, similar drum beats and similar keyboard rhythms and sounds...

The Mars Volta- De-loused in the Comatorium (9/10): Really glad I found this band, a really good sound they have. A sound all of thier own. A mixture of grand guitar solos, strange ambient passages, and a distinctive voice form the lead singer all combine to make a CD that makes you want to take the long way to the store just to hear more of the CD. NOt a good suffle play CD, as all the soungs blend into each other, but suffle still works.

Coheed and Cambria-In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3 (?/10): Haven't even listened to even one complete song yet....so no review.

Franz Ferdinand-Franz Ferdinand (7/10): Not a bad CD, few good singles, but I don't really see them breaking out much more with this CD then they already have. The CD has gotten rave reviews, but I"m just not really getting it. Maybe if I listen to it more closely, that may work.....

I'm also spending all my money, even though I said I won't...but fuck it. Bought me a camera today, a Canon PowerShot A75. It comes highly recommened for what I need, a camera that has some adjustable features so I can get a little crative with my pics, take up close photos, and high-res landscapes, etc. Hope that it works out for me. I'm also going to be buying a new cell phone next weekend. This thing is TINY. Went into the T-Mobile store just wanting to look, nearly walked out with a phone. I don't need some big, fancy phone with a camera, movie, and al that fun stuff, I jsut need somethign I can make and get calls, have a little fun with playing games and the like. Saw this thing (barley, it's <4" tall, <2" wide, <1" thick), loved the look, it was easy to use, and had some really nice features. So, I"ll be buying it to replace my phone that dies 5 mins after you unplug it from the wall.

tell me; does it tickle?

Wow, the thigns you see and do sometimes. Every Sunday nite (maybe Saturady too, dunno) on the way to work, a group of, oh, I dunno, 150+ crotch rocket bikers gather at this one eatery. Appearently they keep it civil, as the cops, while ever present, don't bust it up. From what I"ve seen, it's just a bunch of guys hanging out. No really loud music, no burn outs, wheelies, stoppies, or anythign of that sort. Which is pretty cool, it's nice to have a good time, but no use being dangerous about it all the. Just as we were going buy the hang-out spot...what was goign the opposite way? A Buick Grand National. In case you don't know what that is, it's a factory TURBOcharged Buick Grand GNX (or soemthign, I forget). Only a few thousand were made...all in black on black. Oh man, it sounded UBER nice. Those thigns are fast, and one helluva sleeper. Also, as we passed a gas station just a short distance from the highway entrance ramp, this fella in a older Caprice with 22" or 24" wheels, a chromallusion paint job, and an exaust that musta been just a muffler with holes poked in it...sounded awuful. Of course, he was goosing the gas like it was a Ferrari or soemthing, making all kinds of racket. While waiting at teh stop light to get onto the highway, he pulled up next to this really nice Harley chopper that I've seen around a few times...has about a 230 tire in the back....nice and meaty. As the light turned, the guy in the Caprice just jumped all over the gas making his racket...so what did the Harley do? Jumped all over HIS throttle, making a racket much, much louder, and much much nicer sounding, spun the rear tire, got a little fish-taily, and just flat left the Caprice in the dust...needless to say, the Caprice stopped hotrodding around. Damn it's nice to see someone get owned.

like orgasmatron on overdrive

OK, so now I work nites...10pm-8am. That's 10 hours. In that 10 hours I change on average fewer batts then I did in one hour on day shift. So needles to say (but I'll still say it), my nite is full of nothingness. Luckily there are thigns to keep me busy, and I kinda drag my feet doign them to help pass the time a little better. I also keep the radio on, which helps. If any ATL listeners missed out the Don Miller Morning Show this morning on 99x this morning, you missed the funniest damned thing I may have ever heard. This was a non-stop laugh-a-thon from ~5.30am-10.10am. It will be replayed sometime in the next two weeks, so be sure to check out the site and try to listen to it, worth it.

Speaking of music, my Polk/MOMO speakers are really sounding good. I finally installed my Infinity's in the rear doors, so now I have a complete sound....man, does it ever sound sweet in there....really need a sub now though. Speaking even more of music, I got the newest Modest Mouse and The Killers CD's, might buy Muse's CD tomorrow. MM's CD isn't as good as I thought itd be, granted I haven't heard the whole thing, but so far it's not stellar or craptacular, so it's got that going for it. TK CD meanwhile is not that bad, again, have not listened to the whole thing, but what I have heard is pretty darn good, nice mix of electro beats and fill-ins, and of course a still raw sound that I love about new/underground bands. And I currently have Incubus' S.C.I.E.N.C.E. CD playing, Summer Romance (Anti-Gravity Love Song) as of the sentence....great stuff, love this album.

i've got a lovely bunch of coconuts...

Holy JEEZE what a day off. Best way to do this is to just spit it out...so, I got up at 8.30 AM (was woken up, actaully) to go to the bank. Left the house at 9.15 AM, but the bank didn't open till 10.00 AM, so my mother and I killed time shopping in Publix. Got back home at about 10.20 AM, left again at 10.25 AM with my Dad to do our running around. Took back a fauly DVD player to Best Buy that I had bought them (who says I'm not a good son?). Headed to HiFi Buys to check out some stuff, guess it was about 10.40 or so. Decided I was gonna buy some speakers, but they didn't have them in stock, but another store did that could deliver them, so I had them delived, pick up time: 1.00 PM. Went to Barnes & Noble to look for soem books, found some; one about painting autos, and another about building car stereos. So, about 11.05 AM or so we headed over to Wal-Mart to pick up some Meguairs NXT wax. Done, at about 11.25 AM went to the eyeglasses place to get the nose peices on my specs changed. Needed a hair cut for about a month now, so at about 11.40 AM went to the hair cut place. They said the wait could be as long as 2 hours, but if I stuck around, it wouldn't be that long at all, so I stuck around. Did go next door to look for a video game at a store who's name I can't remember. So, at about 1.00 PM finally got my hair cut. At about 1.20 PM went back over to HiFi Buys to pick up my speaks. Had to wait a little for the guy to get finished with his previous customer, no bigge, they had the Alice in Chains: Unplugged DVD going in the car audio room, and that DVD rocks. So, at about 1.45 PM left HiFi Buys to head for the junkyard. Walked around there for a while looking for some seats for a guy at work. Well, I guess it's about 2.30 PM or so now when we get home. Hadn't been home for more then 2 mins before my brother-in-law comes in, so at about 2.40 PM he, I, and my nephew head to his house for some swimming. As we walk out the door my brother walks in. OK, so now it's about 3.05PM and I'm at my brother-in-laws. We swim, eat some hotdogs, and play soem video games...fun times. A friend of his girlfriend comes over...driving a Stage 2 Roush Mustang Convert....very nice. Leave at about 5.30 PM to go to the house. Get some gas for the truck, the head back to Best Buy to pick up a DVD that we left in the DVD player we returned earlier, whoops. OK, so it's about 6.20 PM when I finally get back home again, and I go to work installing my speaks. Need my Dads help making some speaker adapters, he breaks the jig saw blade and we have to go get some more, it's about 6.30 PM. Get home from Home Depot at about 7.00 PM (saw a nice little hottie there, helped her find some bathroom fixtures), time to get to work. So my father and I work till 10.15 PM installing these speaks, but man, was it worth it. They sound GREAT, look awesome, and well, they just rule...can't WAIT till I amp them here in the next few weeks....

OK, these speakers I bought are Polk/MOMO MMC650. Very nice stuff. A kinda coaxial/component hybrid, will probably be very happy with them. Here's a pic with just the speaks, can see teh adapter ring too. And here is a shot with them installed. Look real nice in person with that grille...just hope it doesn't attarct too much attention from nogoodknicks.

of mice, men, and other small furry things

So, I've got a bit of thinking to do. What should I buy? What shouldn't I buy, shoudl I even spend my measley pay check, or just hang onto it for a rainy day. Perhaps I should hold back 10% for a rainy day and splurge the rest....eh, who knows. Although if I do decide to splurge some of my money, I have to decide what to spend my moola on. Here, for your review are my current ideas:

Sound system; ~$1690°°
Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P8600MP: ~$370°°
Multichannel Amp: Polk Audio/MOMO C400.4: ~$450°°
Mono Sub Amp: Polk Audio/MOMO C500.1: ~$450°°
Component Speakers: Polk Audio/MOMO MM6: ~$300°°
Sub: Polk Audio/MOMO MM2104: ~$120°°

Laptop:
Hewlett-Packard zx5180us: ~$1600°°

Desktop:
Hewlett-Packard a566n: ~$1100°°

Now, the sound system is pretty much set, except for the speakers and sub, I haven't really decided on those, and $300 is a gross overestimate...I've seen similar speaks (stil Polk/MOMO at HiFi Buy's for much cheaper. I also didn't account for any installation supplies, taxes, or shipping charges...although most of the stuff I can get local. I also haven't price shopped and compared either. Now, the laptop and desktop I"m most finiky on. I'd love to have a big 17" laptop, but if I'm buying a new computer, it MUST have at least 500 megs of RAM, 1gig preferred, a BIG hard drive, and a MUST is a DVD+RW drive. To get all of that in a 17" lap top costs well over $2000...ouch. Now, I don't really need a laptop, having one would just be cool, a desktop would work just as well. And for a lot less money, I can get a whole lot more. I already have a monitor (no printer, don't need one), so I can save some money there. I've already bought me a new PS2 to replace my old, broken one, so from here on out, I've got my eyes on the prize...hopefully.

3.7.04

you've got moxie baby

Ah, that's right, I remember why jobs suck so bad now....Well, just got home from work..OK, thats a lie, as I left work at 6:30, but I went out afterwork and just got home. But I've been wearing my steel toe boots since about 5:30 this morning...a full 18 hours or so with those puppies on...yee-haw. Gotta love it. I also got my first paycheck today....and it's a sorry, sorry site. Not only am I not getting paid the amount that was mentioned before I started working, I"m not even getting the amount that was mentioned after I started working. I"ll put it like this, I'm getting paid a lot less now then I was 6 years ago when I was 14 and did a lot less work, and non-essential work at that. Now I'm working my ass off, work that has to be done or everythign goes into the toilet (that's not a stretch either, as if the lifts have no juice, they can't pull product, if they can't pull product, things get FUBAR'd really quickly), and getting paid shit to do it. My job is dangerous enough as it is, and I"m barley getting paid the same amount the guy who works the fry machine at McD's does...how fucked up is that? For instance, this week alone...I got into a fight with a grinder and lost...tore half of the skin off the side of my middle finger off. It hurts like hell, I can't bend it all the way, and I can't straighten it all the way or it hurts like more then hell, whatever that is, uber hell I guess; I had a battery arc on me...a 36V 1200amp battery...big spark...luckily I was wearing rubber gloves at the time; I had a battery short out on me filling my space will noxious sulfur gas....fun times. I'm rambling a bit now about somethign no one cares about, but fuckin'a....at least give me some compensation...espically when I'm the only battery man that gets any fuckin' work done. Oh, and I"ve been up since 5:15, and it's after 12:45 now, so yeah. My Dad did say he will talk to some higher ups about my shitty pay to see what can be done. There is a lot of talk about everyone wanting me to comeon full time, but at this rate, fuck that, I"ll stay my ass at home sleeping till noon and not dealing with all the bullshit.

I also had somethign else to say, but I can't even remember half of what I just rambled on about, and i"m not reading that again...it's prolly chock-full of spelling and grammar mistakes...screw it, it stays. Oh, yeah, I can't find the same 'Speedkings' for "XBox' anywhere local...that sucks, cause that game rules.

Work sucks, do'nt do it for as long as you can, and when you do do it, do it half assed and barley adequate..just enough to not get your ass fired.
