i'm so cold rose....so cold

Since my OHC/GI thingy hasn't panned out as planned, I have to do somethign else to take up my time, and since I've been needing a switch panel anyhow, I've been building up a nifty switch panel for teh truck. In my tradtional style, I'm trying to incorporate them without detracting from teh overall look of the truck....in other words, make it look so it's not half-assed and that it goes. My floor console seemed like the perfect spot....but just drilling some holes was too simple...too common. So I bondo'ed a peice of plexiglass over the top of one of the cubby holes and will use that for the mounting location...the front one for you ranger owners. I'll smooth it all out and paint it body color. Furthermore, I seperated the sides from the middle and will be covering the sides in grey suede with 3D flames to mimic the door panels...The actual switches are billet aluminum with a blue LED in the end that light up when the accessory is on. The blue will match the radio buttons and the gauges, the further tie in a color scheme. Dang I lvoe my nonsequential thoughts jammed into one big paragraph. Indendts be damned, DAMNED I say!

Don't you hate it when your peice of shit computer take a dump on you? Yup, damn laptop is down, AGAIN. Fuckin peice of shit. I'm trying not to reformat the HD this time, but if I have too....peice of shit damn computer.

little to the left....yeah, thats the stuff

Does it ever feel good to finally complete a project that you've been looking forward to doing; not to mention working on it for round about 3 days. Started my headlight install Friday afternoon...round 6 o'clock, finished up around 11:30 Monday nite....these light just look killer in person, let me tell you. I'm gonna take some day shots tomorrow, but I"ve give you a little taste tonite. The bulbs I'm using....superb. Look really close to HIDs....and the beam pattern...nice and defined. I can probably still fanagle the mounting a little bit to bring the angle of the lights down some, but I passed a few cars on the test drive with no one flashing me. Pics already, jeeze....I pray for you 56K guys...:

Note the well defined beam pattern on low:

And the highs:

Finally, a look at the lights on the truck...kinda:

you don't want none

Ever done something where you just had to step back and say, "Damn, I'm such a fuckin badass."? Playing some multiplayer Halo 2 tonite, Team Slayer on Coagulation, two of my damn team mates left even before the first shot was fired, so it was two on 4 for much of the game, one of thiers left with about 2 mins left. Anywho, with about 45 seconds left in the game I was up on the ridge above the red base, just bombarding the base with the Brute Shot, when the guy in the Banshee started to pester me...he made the mistake of dropping below the ridge..so I jumped down and boarded his ass, MID-AIR, then proceeded to burn him with a fury of plasma. Then smothered so other dude with all of 5 seconds left.....my only two kills the entire game. Mid-air boarding...don't touch me, I'm hot.

passion, or retardation?

Well, went to Lowe's to get something I needed to finish the headlight install, but while I was out, a wind storm came in and stayed for the night, and today...last night sustained at 30mph, gusts 45+. Today, the high was about 34°, with sustained about 15-20mph, gusts up to 35. So what do my father and I do after watching to Falcons lose? We go outside to work on the truck. Air temp all of 20°, wind chill down into the single digits. I can't feel my fingers, face, feet, toes, or anything of the sort. Good news is that the drivers side light is 'done'. It's mounted, but not wired. That'll be left for tomorrow when we finish the passenger side. So...I'm SO CLOSE to getting it done that i'm getting fairly excited. The fitment is almost like I want....little larger gap by the grille then I want, but it's a consistant gap. So close...

Excuse mispellings and error, I can't feel anything...

damn damn damn

Man..it's taking a lot of cutting to get those damn headlights to work...and I still don't have em like I want. Luckily it's fiberglass and cuts well, and retains strength, even after being cut...so thats good. Hope to have em in by the end of the day tomorrow.

I FUBARd my OHC display and brain...so I'm gonna have to go to the j-yard and um...'borrow' another one...now I know how to get to just what I need...so I should be good. But I'll have to take it to someone to do the work that I need done...I just don't trust myself with the delicate soldering that needs to be done, nor do I have the proper tools...be the first time I outsourced something...damnit, oh-well.

"Eleven-dollars and seventy-two cents?"; No, eleven-hundred seventy-two dollars.

Man-o-man...startin to get excited for the weekend. My OHC came in today...and it'll take a little modification to the parts in order to make what I want to make...but I expected that. I just sure hope I don't fuck it all up and ruin it....flush my money right down the toilet I'd be. Also got my order for my wheels in....Should be into the store next Tuesday or so, then about a week after that, on my doorstep. And maybe...just MAYBE I won't need spacers and will be able to mount them as is...which would be good. If I need spacers, count on maybe another two weeks after I get the wheels for those. The anicipation will kill me. Also, I won't be able to run my super high wattage bulbs I got for my headlights (100/120 watt)...so I'm having to make a new harness out of 12 gauge wire triggered by relay...and I got those done. So...all in all it's been a good day, hope the weekend is even better....yee-haw.

call the ball

Boy does it feel good to be back home. No matter how much fun you have on vacation, something about coming home and sleeping in your own bed...ahhh. Anywho, had a real good time terrorizing the familiy out on the west coast. Got to see a lot of sights, experience a totally different culture and just generally get a chance to enjoy myself away from everything. I really needed that. Helped me clear up my mind and think some things over. Guess all that thin clean mountain air does that to you, lol. The plane ride was a good one...all but teh landing. Was a bit on the rough side. Well, not the landing, but the approach...there musta been some winds cause the pilot was having trouble keeping the wings level. Didn't really bother me, I was sitting next to the window on an exit row, so I knew I'd get out....but scared the shit outta my mom. We're talking about going out next summer...that'll be fun for sure.

Ah yes, my truck.....boy does she not know what's gonna hit her. I've got no less then THREE, yes, THREE, projects coming up for her. And in an exclusive sneak peak, I'll let you in on all of them here and now....on the edge of your seat? Well, get ready....:

1) Headlamps...not a terribly huge surprise, but my plan is to get these bad boys in before the weekend. A fella out in Texas is shooting for this weekend for his install, and he's way ahead of me...so I gotta be first, lol. I'm such an asshole.

2) Wheels/tires...again, not that huge of a surprise as I've been talking about this for a while. BUT, while out on the west coast, I was able to finally see my intended wheels in person...and I LOVE them. There will probably be some fitment issues, and I"ll probably have to buy some spacers, but thats OK, since these wheels are only sold as far east as Utah, I'll at least be somewhat unique on the east coast...oh yeah, heres a pic to them. They are 17x7's, and I'll be running 215/45R17 tires up front, 235/45R17's in the back. Size wise they are between what I'm running front to back now, closer to the front though...but I should still have some rake left when I'm done.

And finally...

3) OHC (over head console) install. Huh? Whats the big surprise about that? Well, not your typical OHC at all. I'll be installing the display where the gear indicator normally goes. Wha? Yup...I"ll be moving my gear indicator to the front panel of the dash and I'll install the display for the OHC there in the dash. Why? Why the hell not? It's different, cool, and informative. Ah yes, that is IF it works....which it may not. If it doesn't I"ll install it somewheres else.

Oh yeah, that one pic of my truck up above includes bags, a shave, new headlights (although not the ones I"m using), tint, and a roll pan. Almost all of which are in the plans after I get a new job. Kinda sad I go on vacation for 10 days, come back and all I talk about is my truck...

thats the way to do it

Wow, actually in Washington right now. Town not too far from Olympia called Shelton. At my Uncle's house at the moment. Good flight, good time at the air port, and overall, just a pleasant experience. Except for when I was flagged and had to go through additional screening at security. Oh, and the fact that I have a cold and the pressure changes inflight were playing hell on my sinuses....ouch. Well, battery runs low and off to see the my Uncles shop...yee haw.
