well that's not good

Jeeze...almost just landed my truck in the guard rail....These damn tires have got NO wet traction...my old ones that is. I was turning LEFT, a WIDE LEFT no less, not even on the gas at all...maybe 1500 RPM max...tires hit some paint on the road, where's it's really slick...lose traction and pitch the truck sideways. I turn into it, keep the gas in just a bit, loook behind me to make sure I'm not about to get smacked, and luckily pulled out of it. These tires not only suck with traction, but the rears have such huge sidewalls that the tires were folding under as well. Wasn't that big of a deal really, other then the fact I didn't see it coming and it took my by surprise. I hope my new tires at least of some notion of traction in the wet. What a nice way to begin then morning.

Got wheel number quattro! Guess what, it's backwards. I have two left side tires, two right side tires...just a shame both side tires are on the same axle. I'm just hoping it's not gonna take a whole lotta money to get 'em swapped....cause I WANT THESE WHEELS MOUNTED DAMNIT. OK, enough caps for a month.

56K die!

Guess what I got today? If you guess laid, you're wrong, but if you guessed wheels, you are correct sir! FINALLY after what, a month or so? my wheels came in. But I'm still not happy. First off, I've only got three wheels. I'm hoping the fourth one comes tomorrow....or I'll be uber pissed. Uber. I open up the box and what do I find? Why the paint has been worn through on the high spots from shipping. Uber. I'm not even sure what the hell I'm gonna do about that. Uber. Then, since I'm using directional tires, I noticed that the two front tires are mounted so that they both go on the right side. Uber. So that means I need to go to a tire shop and get one of them switch around. Uber. If the remaining rear is like that...UBER. Other then that they are kick hiz-azz. Look as good and better then I ever hoped. The brakes are really exposed now, so some high temp black paint is needed. Might even get some slotted and cross drilled rotors with my tax money. Might. I'm also gonna install some rea spacers, probably 1" to get the rear wheels sitting how I want them, but that's something that can be done at anytime. Some good news about them at least, they don't rub. Barley. There is about, maybe 1/4" of clearance at full left turn to the lower control arm. I might grind the offending lip of the control arm to ease my mind. Might. Pics? You want pics?

Also....I'm gradually updating my site to reflect some new mods, including Photoshop mods, which means spiffy new wallpapers, 6 to be exact. Some are good, some are not, but download them all regardless.

This one I did today. Not a whole lotts photoshopping going on by hand, mostly just filters...but it still looks cool:
1959 Caddy Eldorado

I was just screwin' around with the camera and my models (sounds good already, eh?) and snapped this pic. A little cleaning up in PS and a dandy wallpaper it is:
1966 custom GTO wheel

Betcha' cant guess everything I did here...I basically just exaggerated the look of the picture, chopped lid, slammed, big wheel, enlarged grille and spoiler lip, angled headlights, shaved, small mirror, and of course that burn out:
SRT-8 Magnum Concept

This one's kinda lame...but still has enough coolness for inception into the galley. I took this soon after installed my PlasmaGlow headlights, which I'm not running anymore. Kinda cool, kinda not...mostly not:
whoosh?

This was the Photoshop that lead me to get my current wheels. Slightly outdated with the stock headlights, but still looks kick ass. I hope to be this low soon....my new compressor helps at least, lol:
My 2001 Ranger, slightly modded

OK, so this isn't new per se, but it is updated. I really like this chop so I went back and fixed some problems from the original, widened the image to fit my new larger desktop, and some other things. I also have an antique picture style lookin' one, but this one is better:

cha-cha-cha-cha-ching

So...the latest word on the wheels is Monday or Tuesday. I'm getting tired of waiting, that's all I know.

Took a trip to junkyard today and scored some nice goodies. For $30 got a wheel and tire, a stand alone wheel, some wheel cover and an arm rest for my mom's car....and the best part, an a/c compressor from a 4.0 Cherokee. Huh? This is my new engine driven air compressor for my bag project. Just one step closer to draggin frame. Can't wait.

Also started the mock up of my new chopper. That's what the wheels and tires from the JY are for. It's a 195R14 tire...nice and big and fat. The chopper build so far looks bad fuckin' ass...it's that good lookin. Long, low and mean. Ignore the conduit and wooden triple tree..and the lack of a backbone and proper seat, this is only the start of the mock up. But you can get a fairly good idea of where this thing is headed.

This is the wheel I'm planning on using over the one in the mock up:

where's my anti-anxiety meds..

Wheels are STILL not here. Gonna call again to Washington to see where they're at. I'm anxious as hell to get em in and mounted, and this waiting is killing me. I know the money is there, so that's not an issue anymore, but the wheels aren't here...and that is an issue. This is why I hate not buying in person, I don't really like to wait for stuff like this.

Got the pedals mounted and installed. Look pretty good. It'll match my switches, amp and sub when I finally get those installed. Ignore the exposed stuff and loose wires in the pics, thats for the switch panel...

ouchie, where's my mommy?

I hate this day.....I wish it woudl go away. Valentine Day that is. Go away, leave forever and never come back.

Anywho, got some pickies of the almost done passenger seat cover...gotta get some hog ring pliers and hog rings to finish the job, but man....do they ever look good. Major props, shout out, mad love, etc, etc to mama for doing the sewing...excellent job. Look good, eh?

Also got my gas pedal mounted....kinda. I got it all fabbed up, but I gotta take it back apart to paint and do final assembly and install in the truck, but it's 'done'. I did burn my left thumb quite good though...can't feel a damn thing with it anymore. Did you know metal gets hot when it is being worked? I do too now.

Notice you can see a few other mods in progress...clicky for biggie!

go away, i need my space

Productive day in the shop today..got started on a list of mods for the truck. The passenger seat is out and torn down, getting custom seats covers...that'll look SICK when done. The floor console/switch panel is almost done, just have to figure a way to reattach the sode to the center and wire it up. It didn't turn out quite as smooth as I hoped for, but I'm happy with it...and I can always go back and fix it later. Got the passenger door recovered in grey suede, that looks sick as well. Just have to recover the red portions with the new material and it'll be done. The Mustang gas pedal is clsoe to getting done, I know how to mount it at least now.

So all in all, the passenger seat might get done, the switch panel will be done tomorrow, as well as the passenger side door and gas pedal. Feel like I'm missing something...eh, oh well. With my wheels HOPEFULLY coming in early/mid next week, hopefully at the end of next weekend the truck will be one step closer to nirvana. Which reminds me, I still haven't updated my website in ages...may do that now.

1!

Anxiety can be put to rest, and waiting can begin. Called to check-up on my wheels and tires, luckily they hadn't been sent yet, which means they weren't lost in the mail. The MO I sent got there and is ready to be cashed. The hold up was finding proper shipping, but they will be put in the mail tomorrow, so by the middle of next week I"ll be sportin' some new rubber. Yay for me.

Progress progressed with my switch panel as well....still ahve just a slight amount of filling and sanding to do, then drill, paint, and wire. This weekend it'll be done. Also plan to do my new seat covers this weekend, and possibly my pedals. Taxes are on the schedule as well so hopefully I can get them sent off and back before a meet I've got on March 19th to get my system installed. Doubtful, but I can dream.

so many beyotches to court, where to begin?

Well. no wheels....I'm waiting till Wednesday to give ol' Lloyd a call to check-up on the situation. I figured it out, and Today, with today being Tuesday, would be about the last reasonable day to have them here, given UPS's 5-day shipment guranetee. I know I butchered the spelled of that word, eh...

I've got so many mods for the truck on my mind and on my plate right now that I'm not even sure where to begin. I've got the floor console/switch panel thingy, I've got custom seat covers, I've got door panels, wheels, possible wheel spacers, caliper/drum paint, brake rotors, gas pedal, then regular truck maintence, like a much needed bath and wax.

IF I get all my takes back from evil ol' IRS, I'll be sitting pretty first off, yee-haw, but I"ll take some of it and use it towards 'finishing' the system in the truck. Looking at a 12" Polk/MOMO DVC being pushed by the Polk/MOMO 500watt amp, although the sub link is for a SVC. I really like the looks of the amp, and the aluminum blue light will tie it in nicely to the rest of the interior. The sub looks cool too, and with the optional speaker grille, will match the door speakers and provide some much needed protection. I won't be attempting the install myself, not because I lack the talent or skills, I jsut don't wanna fuck up the sub box and blow the sub. I'll get a local store to do it, and they do really good work, so I'm not worried....no Best Buy or Circuit City bullshit here. I'll get 'em to install it so it looks integrated, not just thrown in like so many people tend to do. Hope to go talk to the head installer sometime this week to get a feel for what they can do and what to expect. How long does it take to get a refund check? Oh yeah, too long....

just testin it out

Took a few pickies of my custom pedal-bike and the truck. The truck is very, VERY dirty, so excuse that. The bike...well, the bike is just as it should be. Scratched paint, missing part, dents, dings, mismatching nuts and bolts, rubbing tires, etc, etc....and the best part, no brakes! This thing is a monster, threw it next to the truck to get a feel for the length of it. Looks uncomfortable, but isn't, and is a blast to ride. Just testing photobucket.com more then anything else...

good karma good, bad karma BAD

Saftey tip #1: ALWAYS wear your seat belt, even when acting like a complete retard.

#2: Don't act like a complete retard.

#3: Parked cars are dangerous.

#4: Traction and ICU are expensive for out of work stoners.

Confused? Well, no more. Feel bad for the kid on the bike, retard from the car....not so much.

it wasn't me, it was the one armed man

I've come to the realization that this site has no content, just pics....I plan on changing that. As soon as I can figure out why my other computer, the one will all my site files on it, doesn't want to get online anymore, I"ll update the site with some actual content. Yay!

and cupid fell from the air slain and dying

I have no life. It's true, and I've finally admitted it to myself. I realized it at about 7:30 PM local time, when my 5-HOUR long Halo 2 Free-For-All slayer match ended. So whats a three hours long game like? Insane, simply insane. I joined the fun at about 4:37 PM, and the game had just started. The map was Lockout, all weapons, no shield, no radar. All in all I suspect that at least 25 different players showed up. So what do the stats of a game like that look like? Lets take a look.....I came in 2nd place over all with 666 kills, first had 751, third had 443. I died 806 times and had 71 suicides (both were the most for the game). I lived an average of 14 seconds....so every 14 seconds or so over the course of five hours I died. I managed to snag 278 medals, second most for the game. I fired 5934 shots, with 1939 of them hitting thier target, which was also the most of the game. Yup, thats how lame I am. But the game was fun, didn't seem like 5 hours at all. Not sure if the link will work, but see all the stats for yourself.

On a side note, I'd like to thank everyone who has voted for me for Truck of the Month...I've rocketed up to become tied for the lead at last check, with 28% of the votes. It'd be an honour to win, espically given the caliber of trucks I'm up against....so if you voted for me, thanks very much, and if you didn't....shame on you, go do it now, lol.

3.2.05

from a mile away....

I'm up for Truck of the Month over at Generation Edge/Ranger Edge....I know I'm not gonna win, one, I'm up against a very nice truck (the other red one) and those sites are generally 'anti lowering'. Just look at the other trucks that I'm up against for an idea of teh rest of the site. It'd be cool to win, but with only a few hours into the voting process, the other red truck already has nearly half the votes. I only wish this was brought about a few days from now, as I should have my wheels in by then and have my new switch panel done by then....but eh, I love the thought, but I know I'm doomed to lose.

But some good news...I found my spray adhesive and was able to get the suede and flames done for the switch panel. Still need to do some more sanding on the body part, but that's tomorrow. Paint of course, then the wiring...which will be a breeze.

Whoops, links help...Truck of the Month, click the VOTE FOR TOTM link about midway on the page.

2.2.05

I don't know why, but I"m crying from laughing....Peter Pan's Home Page!

and then the moon went away too

Haven't been working on my console/switch panel at all...can't find the spray adhesive I need, and my neck is killing me from all the leaning and looking down at my work. So.....

I've been working on making larger versions of my favorite wallpapers. Since my laptop uses a 1440x900 resolution, then 1024x768 ones I have and have been using jsut don't work, or look right when stretched. First up is the XB. I've changed it up a bit, removed the text at the top, made my name a bit less noticable (should I change the date to 2005? hmmmm), put it on a white to grey gradient, widened the rear tire with a larger, deep dish wheel, improved the coloring of a few bits, cleaned it up a little. Other then the gradient, there is nothing special scene wise from this and the small version...not sure waht to do. I'm still not happy with the choppiness of the flames, but I'll deal with it for now. I want this thing so bad...link linky.

::edit::, So I've been working a bit more on the XB. Improved the flame licks and sharpened most of the details....just little thigns that make all the difference...of course, no one probably notices them, lol.
