it's fun to have sticky hands

I'm on a shaving spree....tonite my father and I, through some great difficulty at one stage, relocated the tailgate handle from the standard location to the inside of the bed in preperation to shave the 'gate. I'll probably make a filler panel and weld it and the emblem holes up tomorrow...then onto the body work. Given the small area and simple shape, it shouldn't take me too long at all to get the tailgate done...only problem is, that I've run out of primer, so I won't be able remount the gate until I get it in primer, wouldn't want it to rust and all. And, I might add, we didn't use no stinkin' $40 relocator kit bought from some company...we did the measuring, cutting, and mounting ourselves, and I'll make my own filler plate....big companies be damned!

I'm thinking of also shaving the taillights and running LEDs...but that's a little too common, espically on show type trucks. I'm thinking of going with neons, like what's gonna be on the '66, but I'm thinking that they might be washed out in the sun, and that's no good. I'm thiking that shaved taillights and LEDs is treading too far into show territory for this 'daily driver'.

i'd like to leave....but i can't

This is kinda cool, it's a Halo 2 Stats Reader. So now you can see exactly how well, or bad, I've been doing in Halo 2. For being free, the site tracks a lot of stuff and presents them in a easily read and understandable manner. All LIVE players should look into signing up into the database, it may just help you find that extra edge you need.

i never did ask for much

Ah....now that feels good. The roll pan is molded in, the stake pockets are shaved, and they both look bad ass. The stake pockets could use some glaze to fill in the pin holes, but damn, they look good. I also have quite a bit of work left on the underside of the bed cause the factory fucked up and left that area raw and unfinished looking...so I'm fixing that...eventually.

Tailgate goes back on tomorrow, if ol' Katrina lets me. I'm just glad to get the taste of Bondo out of my mouth and nose.

if i said i didn't miss her, i'd be lying

So what have I been doing since midday Friday? Sweating my ass off, getting flashburn, singeing some arm hair, getting cut, and breathing lots and lots of body filler dust. Thats my rollpan welded in, and mostly molded in. I plug welded the top mounting flange and butt welded the sides, that puppy is solid and isn't going anywhere. The driver's side was a lot closer to being spot on then the passenger side, but a few coats of body filler later and the bitch is molded in. I've still got to do some work, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to these things. The stake pocket holes have also been welded shut. I've still got a bit of work left on those yet, but that's easy compared to the roll pan. Overall, I'm quite pleased with how it is turning out, quite pleased. I guess I'm 'official' now, as I've got primer...

um, i dunno, something

Lookie what I got....

And a shot of my plate lites...

Incase you're wondering, that is my real plate number. Yes, I like it too. I got the pan in Monday. I had to do some minor trimming and hammer/dolly work to dial in the curve, but the fite is quite nice. I may still do some additional hammer/dolly & bag work to get the very bottom of the pan to curve length-wise more like the top. Currently it's just bolted in, but it'll be welded and molded in soon enough. I'm glad to get that damn huge honkin' bumper outta there...hooray for roll pans!

i love her; i love her not

Remember that black '67 Conti I linked to a few days back? Well, I'm so smitted with it that I had to make a wallpaper out of it. I'm not done with it, I need to make some type of background other then boring white, even though the white works and was how the picture was made. For now, I'm just showing a small version. It doesn't look like I've done much to it, but looks can be deceiving. I've taken an outdoor shot of the car and made it into a studio shot, not only that, the upscaling of it required a lot of fuzzy lines to be hardened and honed. The wheels, while the exact same as on the real car, are new in the pic, the front bumper has been tucked and straightened, the glass and paint given studio style refelctions, so on and so forth...

Original.

she loves me; she loves me not

Now that's interesting....a nice, eventful afternoon today.

First off, Saturday my father and I went to the junkyard to get some brakes for the '66. We scored the front brake set-up from a '71 LTD, spindles, rotors, calipers, brake booster (horah! for power brakes!), proportioning valve, and dual system mater cylinder...so you know, if we lose a wheel cylinder we'll still have some brake instead of squirting all the brake fluid onto the road...yay! for saftey! OK, that was ghey. Today I mocked them up to make sure everything fits...and everything does...so that's good.

I just had installed the passenger side stuff when I noticed traffic out front was stopped. Not un-normal, as there are several school bus stops nearby. A few mins later, they are still stopped. Well, come to find out an SUV had flipped on its side blocking traffic maybe 150 yards from the house. Didn't look to be a very serious accident, only one car involved, and it didn't look to be that hurt.

So then I'm just sitting in my room and I look out the window, "hmmm, looks a bit smokey out there, perhaps I'll investigate." I get up and look out my bathroom window, which is untinted, and not only can I see the smoke, I can smell it. I rushed outside to check on the shop...luckily it wasn't on fire. Then I do a quicl scan of the house, it's conflagration free too. Dunno what it was, but up the road it was really smokey, and it's not burning season...just so long as the shop and house are still standing, I'm good.

damn, i hate when that shit happens

I've gone to the darkside...why it is dark? I dunno. I don't think it has sides either....but it does create a nice dramatic effect to say that; "I've gone to the darkside". Anywho, I"ve got a SSM (Street Source Magazine) profile for the '66 and the Ranger. Take a look if you will, don't if you won't- either way works for me. It's there at least. Yee-haw. Yeah, I really need to stop saying that. Oh, and yay! That too. Yup.

this just in...

There will be a 2006 Model Year Explorer Sport Trac.

That's what I hear through a source from Ford. Is it the new ST, like the concept and spy photos? Nope....it's the same as the 01-05. Supposedly the only changes are exterior colors (keeping with ST tradition), and a few package differences, nothing major. This is new because all along we've been led to belive that there would be no 2006 MY ST, but rather a longer 2005 MY with the new ST introduced as a 2007 MY.

I, however, CANNOT confirm any of the above information. It doesn't help that I'm not privy to some inside information and resources, but regardless, there is no mention from Ford about a 2006 ST anywhere. So take this as you will, just remember, you heard it here first...

yeah, so that's why i always put my name in my underwear now

I found out today why it's taken so damn long to get my roll pan in...apparently UPS doesn't like CenterStageCustoms 'cause my roll pan showed up back at CCS's door....wtf? No reason given by UPS, so both Jimmy and I aren't sure what happened. Regardless, he's dropping by Grant Kustoms (the makers of the pan) and having them ship it, so I'm hoping my the end of this coming week I'll have me's a roll pan. Not like I'm gonna be able to get it welded on for a while, but at least I"ll have it. Yay!

Big thanks goes out to Jimmy for contacting me and working hard to make me happy. If you're not dealing with CCS, why the hell not?

Man, oh, man, I've been so jonesin' for this 1996 Nissan 180SX Type X. Why? Not because of teh SR20DET swap, or the 5-speed, or the aftermarket wheels or exhuast...not even because it's a JDM. Simply put, I want to go drifting. Bad. And I want a drift car. Bad. I even know all the parts I'd use to build it up. But, alas, I don't think it's meant to be...at least not for the moment. I'd probably suck major ass driving sideways anyhow...

...and that's where babaies come from

Good news....finally got the wallpapers section back-up. Find your favorite, find a new favorite, download, enjoy, and um...all that good stuff.

3.8.05

hey, where'd all the cookies go?

Until further notice, most of the wallpapers will be down, I'm moving them from one library to another. I'll have to make thumbnail versions of the wallpapers, and I'm not really feeling up to doing that right now. I'll let you know when they're back up.

it's rumored that only moneygrubbing pussies & scumbags call the fuzz

Want some good reading? Want a look into the mind of a musical genius? Laugh your ass off with nine inch nails: access. Questions submitted by fans to Trent Reznor (and the rest of the current NIN), some of the questions...and comments...are simply strange, bizzare, or just plain ol' stupid. The comments from Trent are great, as are the comments from the rest of the band. They all seem grounded inspite of what they've done. Fans can be so, um, fanatical at times. No wonder Trent drank so damn much...

I liked the comment about Queens of the Stone Age. They rule. I'm hoping to go to the QOTSA and NIN concert here in August, doubtful, but I can hope and dream.

Lastly, I got my peachicks in Thursday. It looks like I've got one cock and one hen. Hard to sex them at this young of an age though. Those little fuckers can fly/jump like the dickens. We've got them in a box right now, sides 18"-20" high, and they can jump/fly out of it. Gotta keep a screen over them now. They'll be kickass when fully grown and feathered, but look liek ugly damn turkeys right now...
