she loves me; she loves me not
Now that's interesting....a nice, eventful afternoon today.
First off, Saturday my father and I went to the junkyard to get some brakes for the '66. We scored the front brake set-up from a '71 LTD, spindles, rotors, calipers, brake booster (horah! for power brakes!), proportioning valve, and dual system mater cylinder...so you know, if we lose a wheel cylinder we'll still have some brake instead of squirting all the brake fluid onto the road...yay! for saftey! OK, that was ghey. Today I mocked them up to make sure everything fits...and everything does...so that's good.
I just had installed the passenger side stuff when I noticed traffic out front was stopped. Not un-normal, as there are several school bus stops nearby. A few mins later, they are still stopped. Well, come to find out an SUV had flipped on its side blocking traffic maybe 150 yards from the house. Didn't look to be a very serious accident, only one car involved, and it didn't look to be that hurt.
So then I'm just sitting in my room and I look out the window, "hmmm, looks a bit smokey out there, perhaps I'll investigate." I get up and look out my bathroom window, which is untinted, and not only can I see the smoke, I can smell it. I rushed outside to check on the shop...luckily it wasn't on fire. Then I do a quicl scan of the house, it's conflagration free too. Dunno what it was, but up the road it was really smokey, and it's not burning season...just so long as the shop and house are still standing, I'm good.
