drifters do it sideways
Holy shit. That's all the more I can say about Saturday. Saturday, if you don't follow, was when Drift Atlanta, the second stage of the Formula D Championship, was held. It, well, rawked. So much so that I must forget my formal English training and go all vernacular up in here. I didn't think I/we (my father and I went) were even gonna go...we had talked about it, but with our upcoming trip out West, we both expressed a concern about spending the money to go so close to the trip; but, alas, we went.
If you have the chance to go to one, go. You won't regret it. The best part about the whole thing is that you see all the action. You don't have to choose where to sit where you think the most people will wreck, or worry about having to try to watch the entire track at once so as not to miss any thing....everything is in front of you. Not only that, the pits are open. You can go down there, see the cars, touch them, look in them, under them, everything. Talk to the drivers, get a John Hancock...the access is unbelivable. I'm going again next year, no doubt.
Be sure to watch G4 TV on June 12th, I think, to see both Drift Atlanta and Drift the Streets of Long Beach. Pay close attention to the 240/Viper tandem in the final 8 of Drift Atlanta. BADASS.
Oh, yeah, my truck is all flat black now. Boo-yah.
