work...continues, and not
Work on the '66 is slow. We've got some mock up wheels from the junkyard...well, turns out the front one have the wrong bolt pattern (I didn't measure it, blame my Dad, lol), and the rears have the wrong offset. The rear wheels are 9" wide, ideal for our 275/60 tires, the tires that were on them, however, were 205/70s. On a 9" wheel. Well, the tries were WAY too skinny for the wheel, so much so that with the wheel and tire resting face down on the ground, that only the wheel bead touched the ground, no part of the tire whatsoever.
With the small ass tires mounted on the 9" wheels, they fit up under the back end of the truck...but yesterday we mounted up the fatties...and they don't fit. The wheel lip rubs on the tire..so much so that you the body stops moving down and won't settle down. New wheels will fix this with 1" more offset.
Still haven't sold that damn Chevy truck, so still don't have the motor done. Just counting the days really.
In other news, I'm in dire need of a job, so if you want to sent me money, feel free, I'm not above accepting donations.
